Hello Everybody,
This may come as bad news to you.
I would be stopping the FREE DAILY CHRISTIAN BEDTIME STORY series. As well as the FREE DAILY LOVE STORIES FOR MARRIED COUPLES.
I wish that I would be able to bring them back some day but to carry the weight of this burden alone is just too much.
The only way I can bring it back is if I have hundreds of employees.
Now, I would have to restructure everything about THE CHRISTIAN BOOK COMPANY.
I would pretty much end everything I’m doing right now and just focus on making published books that would be available for free. So the THE CHRISTIAN BOOK COMPANY website would just turn into a website that has thousands upon thousands of free e-books available for downloading.
I would have to stop blogging and focus on www.thechristianbookcompany.com
Reading books online would no longer be supported. You would have to download them for free. Everything would remain FREE. I would never ask for money. But I need to do other things with my life.
Now the only way you can benefit from my future stories is to subscribe by RSS so you can receive my stories for free by e-mail. I don’t like Twitter and I don’t like Facebook. RSS is the only way.
When the www.thechristianbookcompany.com is fully functioning and a proper RSS Feed is made; I would tell you. But for now I have to take some days off to rest and read for some upcoming exams I have to pass for the sake of my future.
Don’t worry. You would enjoy the new www.thechristianbookcompany.com You would enjoy it much much more. It is just that you should no longer expect to get a new story every single day. But I would make books available whenever I finish working on one. The whole thing would now be dependent on receiving the stories and story download links in your e-mail box.
The site itself would only feel like your own personal collection of Christian books written by me and hopefully other writers.
So Goodbye for now.

Beautiful Passages From Books I’ve Read – 31st January 2011

TAKE THE RISK by Ben Carson, MD. with Gregg Lewis
Chapter 1
Page 18

“As I stood and shook hands with them and bid them goodbye until I saw them in the operating room the next morning. I told Ladan and Laleh what I tell all of my patients during my final pre-op exams: “I’VE NEVER KNOWN A CASE YET WHERE WORRY HELPED. SO I’M GOING TO SAY MY PRAYERS TONIGHT BEFORE I GO TO SLEEP. I HOPE YOU’ILL DO THE SAME. I BELIEVE IF WE DO THAT, WE’LL ALL HAVE LESS TO WORRY ABOUT TOMORROW.” “

King’s Thoughts:
If you pray tonight for tomorrow, you would have less to worry about tomorrow. But if you are wise you would not worry at all because like Jesus said; which of you by worrying can add one cubit to your statue (Luke 12: 25).

FREE DAILY CHRISTIAN BEDTIME STORIES

Author: Alfred Benjamin King
Title of Today’s Story: Stay in Children’s Church, Don’t sneak Off To Adult Church
Date: 28th January 2012 (Saturday)
Website: www.thechristianbookcompany.com

Stay in Children’s Church, Don’t sneak Off To Adult Church

Once upon a time in a lovely Christian home, Peggy’s Mother said goodbye to her kids and to her husband as she got ready to get on a plane to travel abroad for a 3 week business course. She bent down and told her youngest child, Peggy; not to do what she knew she would want to do. Mum told Peggy to go to children’s church and not adult church.
Mum was the only one in the family that always made absolutely sure that whenever they go to church Peggy goes to children’s church and doesn’t sneak off to adult church.
Mum knew that Peggy preferred to be at adult church because it made her feel more grown up even though she was only 8 years old.
Peggy promised her Mum that she would not go to adult church. And then her Mum kissed her, said goodbye to everyone else one more time, and then she turned around to walk to the plane.
When Sunday came, Peggy disobeyed her Mum. After her Dad dropped her off at children’s church, Peggy waited a little while after which she sneaked off to adult church.
When she got to adult church, she hears the Pastor say that if you are not born again you would not see the kingdom of God.
Peggy got scared. She wanted to see the kingdom of God but she knew that she had not entered into her Mum’s tummy and come out a second time.
Peggy got really really really scared. She was going to hell for not entering her Mum’s tummy a second time.
The more Peggy taught about it when she got home, the more it made her cry.
Peggy wiped her tears and after her eyes where clear she went to her elder sisters and elder brothers to ask them questions about births that are unusual.
Her elder brothers and sister where shocked as to why an 8 year old girl would be asking them such questions. So they asked her why is she asking them the questions.
Peggy knew that she had overheard them being called born again Christians before. Therefore, she believed that they had entered into Mum’s womb and come out a second time. In fact the whole house was full of people who were born again. Peggy felt too ashamed to tell them that she wasn’t born again. She taught that they believed that she had already entered into Mum’s tummy and come out a second time too.
So Peggy said, “Nothing.” She was couldn’t tell them the real reason why she asked them the questions. And she couldn’t press them any further to get any answers now.
Peggy began to look around the house to see if she can find any book about someone who entered into their mother’s tummy a second time and then came out.
She searched all day but she couldn’t find any such book.
That night, Peggy had nightmares of her burning in hell all through the night, but she is afraid to wake up her Dad or her brothers and sisters to tell them that she hadn’t entered into Mum’s tummy a second time. She was scared that they would all be disappointed that all along she hadn’t entered into Mum’s tummy and come out again a second time.
Peggy endured all the pain and fears from the nightmares. She held her teddy bear close to her as she cried in bed all night. She cried softly, trying really hard to make sure that no one in the house could hear her.
The next day, during morning prayers. When Peggy gathered with her family to pray, Peggy felt like such a hypocrite so much so that when it was her turn to pray she just broke. She just started crying & begging God that she is sorry that she has not yet entered into her Mum’s tummy and come out a second time.
The whole thing shocked her Dad, her brothers and sisters. That was when they knew that something was seriously wrong.
One of Peggy’s brothers rushed to her to hold her and calm her down as she cried violently while praying.
When they finally got Peggy to calm down, her Dad asked her why she would feel that she has to enter into Mum’s womb a second time and come out a second time.
Peggy was shocked that her Dad would ask a thing like that. Didn’t he already know about being born again? Hadn’t he entered into his own mother’s tummy and come out a second time?
Peggy told them that they must not have been listening at adult church. She told them that she’s sorry that she sneaked into adult church but she heard the Pastor in the adult church say that you must be born again or else you won’t see the kingdom of God.
Peggy drew back the snort in her nose as she paused to wipe her eyes. Then she said, “I’m not born again. I haven’t entered into Mum’s tummy a second time. I guess she kept it from you guys so you won’t be disappointed in me.”
Dad breathed in the deep breathe that his worrying had been holding.
Her Dad began to explain to her that being born again doesn’t mean that you enter into Mum’s womb a second time and come out a second time.
He told her that the first birth is when you are born of your mother which Jesus refers to as being born of the flesh.
And the second birth doesn’t mean being born by your mother again after entering back into her womb. The second birth means being born of God’s Spirit. It is when you receive Jesus into your life and also receive the Holy Spirit into your life. Jesus called that being born of the Spirit.
You are already born again, Peggy’s Dad told her. But you also need to be baptized by immersion now that you are old enough to know what baptism means. You would be taught what baptism means in Baptism Class after that you would be Baptized. I would make sure I sign you up for Baptism Class in children’s church this coming Sunday.
Peggy’s Dad led Peggy to say a prayer of thanks to thank God that she is born again in other to cancel whatever had been established by her opening her mouth to say that she wasn’t born again.
After she finished the prayer, her Dad said; “You know, all of this would never have happened if you had been a good girl and stayed in children’s church like you promised your Mum you would.”

The End.

WHY THIS STORY WAS WRITTEN:
- So that children who are always itching to be in the adult church should know that they should stay in the children’s church where they belong. They should stay where the church has designed for them instead of sneaking into adult church. In children’s church things are explained on a level that they can understand. The sermons are tailor made for them there and are based on children normally go through in their daily lives, which is very different from what adults go through.

- To educate those who don’t believe in baptism by immersion when you have reached the age where you understand what you are doing.

- To inspire people to do some personal research on the subject of baptism.

WHAT YOU’VE GAINED FROM READING THIS STORY:
Amongst other things,
If you are a child you now know why your parents want you in Children’s Church. It’s for your own good so don’t sneak off to adult church.

Say this prayer if you’ve never given your heart to Jesus before and mean it with all your heart:
“Dear God, I come to you in the name of Jesus. Your word says that, ‘… whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved’ (Acts 2:21). So now I call upon the name of Jesus, and I ask that you save me. I ask Jesus to come into my heart to be the Lord of my life. I believe in my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus Christ is the son of God. I believe he came, died and rose from the dead to set me free from sin and to reconcile me with you, Father. I receive eternal life into my spirit now. I thank you because now I am saved. I am now Born – Again. I am now one of your kids.”

PRAYER FOR THE RETURNING BACK SLIDER (ONLY):
“Dear Father God, I ask for your mercy and forgiveness for turning my back on you. I come back to you today in total sincerity and like the parable of the prodigal son, I thank you for receiving me back with Joy and Gladness.
I confess that Jesus Christ is the lord of my life and God the father is my Daddy. Hallelujah!”

PRAYER TO RECEIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT:
“Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for making me born again. Your word says that you would freely give the Holy Spirit to all those who ask (Luke 11: 13). Title of Today’s Story: A message from a dying man
Date: 27th January 2012 (Friday)
Website: www.thechristianbookcompany.com

A message from a dying man

Once upon a time a little boy named Cody received an e-mail from nowhere. He didn’t know how the person got his e-mail address but there was the message staring right back at him in his inbox.
The e-mail was from a dying man.
The dying man had written that the doctor has given him only a few days to live. He said that he was old and didn’t mind dying but the problem was that he was a billionaire and he had no heir. He said that he was looking for somebody to give the 25 billion dollars he had in his bank account to.
At this point, Cody’s heart started jumping for joy as he forced himself the best he could to sit still and read on.
The e-mail went on to read that the dying man needed to test the investment savvy of the person he would need to choose as his heir. So he said that at a test he would like the person to choose and do one of the following two options:
The First Option was that the person should invest all he had in one of the companies that the dying man had that was sure to make a 100% return on investment.
The Second Option was that the person should invest all he had in another company that the dying man had but was sure to make only a 50% return on investment.
Cody was like that was simple. Tricky but simple. The answer was the First Option.
Cody looked at the credit and debit card details at the bottom of the e-mail and he was extremely happy. He was going to be a billionaire and he was only 11 years old.
Cody told his elder brother the good news but his elder brother tells him that it was a fraud and that he should forget about it.
Cody pretended to agree but in his heart he believed that his elder brother was only jealous of him and wished that it was him that got the e-mail.
Cody decided to steal his elder brother’s debit card. He could hear God’s voice telling him not to. He could hear every sermon that he heard in Sunday School that stealing is wrong echoing in his ears. He could even hear his own heart-beat beat louder. But Cody shoved all the warning bells to the said and said to himself that he knew what he was doing. He couldn’t let this opportunity of a life time pass him by, besides he would pay his brother back more than double the money. He would even buy him a house when he becomes a billionaire.
Cody sent the dying man all the money on his brother’s debit card which he stole.
Cody was happy. Any time now he would be counting his billions.
Cody started making a list for all the things he would spend his money on and all the people he would show off to.
Cody felt like the most blessed boy on the face of the earth and he thanked the same God that told him not to steal his elder brother’s debit card.
Many hours passed and Cody decided to send another e-mail to the dying man to find out why he hasn’t replied yet.
He got a reply from the dying man’s e-mail address that read:

“THE OWNER OF THIS E-MAIL ADDRESS JUST DIED A FEW SECONDS AGO AND IF HE OWES YOU ANY MONEY, SORRY! BECAUSE YOU CAN’T GET MONEY FROM SOMEONE WHO IS ALREADY DEAD. GOODBYE.”

Cody couldn’t believe what he just read. He started crying and felt like his head was spinning in a dream world. It could have been better if it was all a dream. He wished it was all a dream.
Cody begged the God he didn’t listen to earlier for help.
With tears in his eyes he sent another e-mail to the e-mail address of the dying man saying that he doesn’t want the billions again. That can he please be sent back the exact amount of money that he gave. That he is not interested in becoming a billionaire again.
The e-mail got sent back to him with a delivery failure notice that the e-mail address he sent the e-mail to no longer exists.
Cody cried and felt like dying. What is he going to tell his elder brother? What would his elder brother do to him? He had wiped out all his elder brother’s pocket money that Mum and Dad gave him for feeding and buying books during his next semester in college.
Cody googled to see if he could track down the dying man but all he found where true stories of people who had been con-ed with the same dying man trick. Clearly, it had all been pulled off by the same person or the same group of people.
What disturbed Cody the most was that no one had ever tracked down the dying man or gotten their money back when they told their card company or the police. The dying man was one of the best at what he did and he was listed in the police directory in various police agencies around the world as “Unknown” and “Most Wanted.”
There was no chance that Cody would ever get his elder brother’s money back.
The price he paid for stealing was having what he stole, getting stolen from him. Which in turn has created another price he would have to pay when his elder brother finds out what he has done.

The End.

WHY THIS STORY WAS WRITTEN:
- To create awareness and enhance caution in the society about online fraud.
- To make sure parents monitor what their kids are doing online. And if you are a kid reading this, believe me when I say it is for your own good that you allow your parents monitor what you are doing online. They have only your best interest at heart.

[Note: A lot of online scams originate from Nigeria. And a lot of people who know this are developing a hatred for Nigerians. I just want you to know that not all Nigerians are bad. I am in Nigeria right now. I am a Nigerian by earthly birth.
There are good Nigerians and bad Nigerians.
The sad thing is that Nigerians are used to pulling off frauds amongst one another and it has been that way for years. So now that Nigeria now has Internet access, a lot of Racist Nigerians are targeting whites to scam online. To these group of Nigerians they are just having fun at the painful expense of the white man. It is not only about the money. It is a racism problem due to the black slavery era.
Note that not all Nigerians are racist. As a matter of fact, the majority aren't. I hope.
I know that it is not safe or wise for a white person to come to Nigeria and feel that they can walk into any neighborhood. Even I can't do that because of tribal differences, how much more a white man whose skin color is a dead give away. But that not withstanding. White people are loved on the surface level but not really on the grass-root heart level out here.
And just for the record, there was once a time before the slavery era that a Nigeria tribe worshipped a white woman because of the color of her skin. She was the only white person that they had seen. They taught she was a beautiful mermaid spirit and they worshipped her. True Story.
Personally, I don't think there is any difference between black people and white people. I always tell black people that they are us. I fondly call them our light - skinned brothers. And for the few among them who may not like being called that, there is nothing they can do about it because it is what they are. They are our brothers and we are their brothers. We are all one family under God.
And I would keep telling everybody that.]

WHAT YOU’VE GAINED FROM READING THIS STORY:
Amongst other things,
Now you would know that it is a scam when somebody online sends you a message that if you should send them money you would eventually make more money than the money you gave them.
No matter how they may present it and how logical it may seem to you, don’t listen to them. It is a scam. Delete the e-mail or report the person to either the online community you both belong to or use whatever process is available in your country to report potential online crimes.

FUN QUESTIONS:
(Feel free to share your answers as comments below.)

1) If you are a kid do you promise to tell your parents if someone asks you for money online?

(a) Yes (b) No

[The Correct Answer is "Yes"]

** If you liked this story, please share it with at least two friends. Either online or offline.

—-

I ask that you give me your Holy Spirit to live in me. And as I’ve asked I’ve also receive by faith. I thank you Father for your precious gift. In Jesus name. Amen.”

FREE DAILY CHRISTIAN BEDTIME STORIES

Author: Alfred Benjamin King
Title of Today’s Story: Come & Eat
Date: 26th January 2012 (Thursday)
Website: www.thechristianbookcompany.com

Come & Eat

Once upon a time in a Christian home in the beautiful country called Nigeria, Obinna’s Mum sat at the dinning table with him teaching him good table manners.
One of the things she taught him was that it was polite to say COME & EAT when you are eating and a visitor happens to meet.
Obinna’s Mum told him that it is not as if you really want the person to come and eat with you but it just something you have to say to be polite, nice, and in-line with proper etiquette.
She told him that when you tell them to come and eat, they should smile and politely reply; “No, Thank You I’m Ok!.” Even if they are really hungry.
One day while eating with his Mum, Obinna’s best friend showed up. Obinna told him to come and eat and his friend replied, “Thank You, that’s very kind of you.” Then he actually begins to approach the dinning table to eat Obinna’s food with Obinna.
Obinna’s friend picked up a spare cutlery and just started digging in. To make matters worse he was a very fast eater.
Obinna could only open his mouth and watch in shock. When he regained his wits, he slapped his friend as hard as he could upside his head and said, “You are not actually supposed to come and eat. Didn’t your mother teach you good table manners yet?”
Obinna’s friend replied, “No, I haven’t been told that yet. But I do know that slapping somebody upside their head when they are eating can’t be good table manners either.”

I ask that you give me your Holy Spirit to live in me. And as I’ve asked I’ve also receive by faith. I thank you Father for your precious gift. In Jesus name. Amen.”

The cliché goes that life is full of options and choices of both Yes’s or No’s. Our human instincts taught us to choose what’s always convenient for ourselves. We thank God that He’s always faithful in changing our selfishness through obeying His words. But, what if obedience requires us to undergo inconvenient situations? Are we still willing to say ‘’Yes’’ even when it hurts? Even when it meant abandoning our own course to let Him take over our life’s ship? I have learned the words …
